OSHPD (California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) is a series of tests for the structural integrity of components, supports, etc. and requires that the functionality of all components be maintained in case of an earthquake. Even though OSHPD is mandatory and specific to the state of California, other states such as Utah, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina have also started looking into seismic requirements for their healthcare facilities.
